Martins Bakery Martins Bakery is a European-style bakery that brings to mind a contemporary deli and coffee shop.

A diamond in the rough – Martins was established by Flemino Martins in 1970, formerly known as “Steurhof café”, a local Convenience store. The business successor, John Martins followed in his father’s footsteps. He decided to continue his father’s legacy by opening a bakery division in 1983. John left his day job as manager of the Bank of Lisbon to follow his passion and now works with his fathe

r and his wife Teresa Martins. The European-style bakery brings to mind a contemporary deli and coffee shop that is filled with the fresh aroma of baked goods to entice the senses. Martins does was it does best-bakes non-commercial, home made breads with no preservatives and using traditional techniques such as their Sourdough.

After 33 incredible years, Francina is retiring this week.

Francina has spent decades doing what she loves most - baking beautiful cakes and being part of the team she’s always cherished. Her passion and the countless celebrations she’s been part of will always be woven into our story.

Francina, thank you for everything you’ve given over the years. We’re going to miss you, but we’re so excited for this next chapter. Wishing you a retirement filled with happiness and of course something sweet now and then.
