🚨 CITY ALERT: Reduce Water Consumption to Essential Use Only

Following severe weather impacts on key water treatment plants, the City’s Water and Sanitation Directorate is urgently requesting all residents and businesses to reduce water consumption to essential use only.

Recent storms have significantly affected raw water quality at Wemmershoek Dam and along the RSE feed, resulting in:

An emergency shutdown of the Wemmershoek Water Treatment Plant
Reduced production capacity at key treatment facilities
Critically low storage levels at several reservoirs
Ongoing pressure on the city-wide water network

⚠️ What this means:
• Reduced water production capacity
• Strain on reservoir storage levels
• Risk of localised supply constraints if demand is not reduced

💧 What you need to do:
• Use water sparingly
• Limit usage to essential needs only
✖ Avoid non-essential use such as irrigation, topping up swimming pools, and excessive outdoor cleaning

Your cooperation is critical to stabilise the system while recovery efforts continue.

Mother’s Day at Monkey Valley 💙🐒

Upstairs in Treetops, the fires are going, while downstairs in Thorfynns Takura Terry sets the mood with live music through the afternoon from 1-4pm.

We’ll be serving our special three-course Mother’s Day roast and winter set menu:
R680 per adult
R350 per child
Bookings essential for this.

Our normal menu will also be available, and as usual, walk-ins are welcome for unreserved tables.

From 5–8pm, James Pop Up Piano closes out the weekend with classical music in Thorfynns Restaurant.

Good food, crackling fires, live music, and one of the most beautiful beaches in the world just below us. PS. Great views of the stormy weather too! 😉
