Cowgirl country arrives in Cape Town for one night only.

From the rugged slopes of the Olifantsberg Mountain in the Breede Valley come wines shaped by tough weather, resilient vines and the steady hands of Ferdi and Elizma Visser.

On Friday, 31 July, Winemaker Elizma joins us at The Wes for an evening of generous plates, considered pours and conversation that carries easily from one course to the next.

Chef Dennis Luke’s menu begins with grilled butternut carpaccio or delicate white fish ceviche with caviar and citrus. From there, choose between herbed smoked venison fillet with glazed baby carrots and raisin jus, or caramelised sweet potato with whipped feta mousse.

Each course will be paired with a selection of Olifantsberg wines, including Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre, Roussanne, Chenin and the estate’s flagship red and white blends.

The final scene belongs to deconstructed tiramisu or a tableside cheese cart featuring South African artisan selections.
Places are filling quickly, so book your seat before the last table is spoken for.

| The profiteroles have entered the room.

Preceded by their reputation. Accompanied by anticipation. Followed, shortly, by complete and utter satisfaction.
Our chocolate profiteroles are how all evenings should end - or, on occasion, how they should begin.

A DISPATCH FROM BEHIND THE YELLOW CURTAIN.

| Our signature Wes Andersonesque cocktails are injected with love of whimsy and the film director's sense of quirky play. You'll find divine drinks such as The Grand Budapest: Hendricks gin, lavender, rosemary, freshly pressed lemon and egg white and Captain Steve Zissou’s Revenge (named after Wes Anderson’s The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou): Stolichnaya vodka, Campari, blue Curaçao, lemon, cranberry juice and soda- "a daring mix to lure the beast from the sea”.

Or opt for a sneaky Mr Fox’s Sly Bourbon (inspired by the movie Fantastic Mr Fox) is “a clever blend that captures the essence of mischief and charm”: Woodford Reserve bourbon, brown butter, aromatic bitters, fresh orange, lemon and cherry.

Well-crafted martinis, negronis, palomas and other classic cocktails are also poured at our elegant bar, with its illuminated arched mirrored alcoves.

Open Tue–Sat: 7am – 11pm
Open Sun–Mon: 7am – 5pm
