An intimate night of storytelling, music, and all the feels ❤️‍🔥

Join us for a special evening with two Cape Town singer-songwriters, bringing their own unique stories, sounds, and perspectives to the stage. Expect captivating vocals, honest songwriting, moments of laughter, and songs that hit a little closer to home.

Jak Tomas, the artist formerly known as Joshua Kenneth Grierson, is a self taught multi-genre singer, songwriter, music-for-film composer and producer born, raised and based in Cape Town, South Africa. Since forming his first band in 1997, Tomas has been a part of various acts covering a number of genres and instruments, with whom he has toured nationally and internationally. The melodic instincts that have been the bedrock of Tomas's musical output for over 25 years have filtered into all his projects and are firmly present, especially in his solo material.

Brig Stanford is a Cape Town singer-songwriter whose music explores the complexities of love, heartbreak, feminism, friendship, and the beautifully messy business of being human. With a voice that balances raw power and sultry undertones, she brings honesty and emotional depth to songs shaped by lived experience. Having performed in several bands across the Cape Town music scene and released music produced by the late Andy Lund and Chris Tait, Brig is a storyteller at heart. She is also the co-founder of Glastonfurry, an all-day music festival raising funds for the Cape of Good Hope SPCA.

Kai Scott live at KAYA HQ 💙✨

is a 21 year old artist based in Cape Town. He is known for his unique songwriting style which blends thoughtful lyrics with intricate musical parts and striking melodies. His songwriting, which draws on figures like Bob Dylan, Haliu Mergia, Adrianne Lenker and John Fahey, is simultaneously personal and political and speaks to the experience of being a young person in the 2020s.

The evening will be opened by musician Olivia Smith!

It has not been an easy journey working at the intersection of the creative, events and hospitality industries; but we love what we do, and the amazing people we get to work with! 🥹

We believe so deeply in the incredible creative talent across South Africa, and the need to build systems that lead to sustainable, professional careers in the creative sector. 📈
