I want to know who started this Haleem- in- Ramadan tradition...
Aaaah...Haleem....
If prepared by the right hands, this simmering pot of wholesome yumminess is soul altering...
Especially when you add that special dash of lemon and super soft naan to dunk in.. chefs kiss🤌
It's an entire celebration for your taste buds....
I want to hug this person who one day decided, "Hmmm, for Ramadan, lets just make degs of this rich, soulful and spicy haleem with tender shredded strands of meat and tell them it's a must-have for iftaar. Leave them to their inner struggles... another samoosa?? Or another ladel of hot lemony Haleem..."
Even woolies jumped on the bandwagon and decided to cash in..
Maaf woolies, but i prefer my Haleem from the deg, fragranced with smoke and fire and brought to me straight from the hands of my mortified children who nagged and whined and also begged to please, please not make them stand in the queues with their buckets....
It's the perfect handover of generational trauma....
Also....
I asked them to choose between death and Haleem....
And well, I will be doing eid shopping again this year, so they're well and alive...
Haleem always wins 🥰🤤
But...
I also want to shake this person who made this almost Fard for iftaar...
Because I really want to ask them whyyyyy???!
Why did you do this to us....
Because i have never tasted a more ANTI-WUDHU meal than this yumilicuous Haleem.
I'm in love, salivating...and I want to cry at the same time...
Because there's a whole 20 rakaahs of tawareeh waiting for us post iftaar...
