WE HAVE A WINNER!

What started with a brew day at Lions River Brewery turned into a fantastic day of competition at the Westville Warehouse Oktoberfest!

The 1000 Hills Chef School team took home Best Student B**r with their hoppy Kölsch! 🥇🍺

Four university teams, four brewing systems, and plenty of advice and encouragement from experienced homebrewers came together for the Intervarsity brew Home brew Day, organised by Anelda, Megan and the Durban Homebrewers.

The students got to design their own recipe, brew their own b**r and then, several weeks later, have it judged alongside the other teams at Oktoberfest.

We couldn’t be prouder of our 1000 Hills team 💪 they put in the work, learned a huge amount and brewed a seriously tasty b**r! 🍻

A massive thank you to the Durban Homebrewers, Anelda, the participating universities, Lions River Brewery, Westville Warehouse and everyone who helped make the event happen.

And most importantly - congratulations to our brewers! 🍻
