Antiquing in Missouri flew ✈️ out of state this weekend to see our beautiful granddaughter graduate from
High school our first grandchild!
We were able to catch one shop still open before we got to our destination.
1610 in Syracuse NY …the shop had several nice things we would have loved to have brought home if we could have fit it in our luggage 🧳

Last but not least The Morton House at Cockrell Mercantile Company. This is a bakers paradise! Pan’s, cookie cutters, cake decorating kits, sourdough everything!!!
Whatever you need to bake with you will find it here, such a great selection!

This is my granddaughter Bella’s favorite store. When she comes and visits in the Summer she doesn’t want a toy she wants to go to the Morton house and pick out baking items and spend the rest of the week baking, she loves that they put her purchases in a gift bag with a pretty bow which they let her choose…she is a customer for life and Sarah always makes her feel special!
Again these are not just shops they are gateways to the ultimate shopping experience where customers feel appreciated. Shop small businesses in Missouri.. shops like these don’t come around often we are so fortunate to have this in Missouri!

My Favorite shop at Cockrell Mercantile Company is the FIESTA shop! My friend Maria started my love of Fiesta with a gift from this shop and that was the beginning of a lifelong obsession. There are SO many ways to decorate with Fiesta I use them for Holiday tables they go in the oven, microwave and dishwasher what’s not to love. What are your favorite color combos?
They have a shop full of all colors even the new Lavender! I could spend hours at this shop!

Cockrell Mercantile Company Main Building!
Your Shopping EXPERIENCE starts the moment you open the door, always a friendly hello and they offer you a cup of their wonderful coffee or their amazing tea what a special touch!
This building has upscale cookware, dish towels, any type of kitchenware you need and offers so many unique items you may have never seen before but you won’t be able to leave without. They offer all types of coffee’s, tea’s, jams, jellies, dip mixes, snacks, local toffee,candies, pickles and my favorite,candy Jalapeños I keep these in my pantry at all times! they are amazing. ( YES I am ADDICTED and admit I have a problem)😂

They have BBQ section , so important in Kansas City to have a great BBQ selection and by the way Fathers Day is this weekend! , if you love wine they have everything you need wine in their wine party section they even have little bird spouts that sing while you pour the wine! Need a great cookbook they have them!
What I love the most is being able to find a unique gift here they sell items in all price ranges and you can create your own assortment.
Did I mention they GIFT WRAP free it’s another special touch that makes this store stand out as a great shop!

Today I am going to take you on a journey to a settlement called Cockrell Mo, no it’s not an antique shop but it is one of Missouri’s best destinations. Located between Lee’s Summit and Lone Jack Mo and I think you will enjoy discovering this settlement steeped in History.
This farming settlement Established in 1886 consisted of a general store and later added post office (the general store is now the main shop) and named after a US Senator, Francis Cockrell.
This charming settlement had only 3 owners to date.
♥️John Perucca purchased ( who also owned Pryde’d in old Westport and his daughter still operates that shop, if you have shopped at Pryde’s you will see the similarities) who had the vision to create a “destination.”
🤍The settlement was then sold to Becky and Chris Glaze who owned and operated for around 18 years.
💙The settlement was then sold to the current owners Sarah and Eric Tangblade.
This settlement consists of four Building
The Main (Kitchen Specialty’s ), The Cottage ( boutique), Fiesta (Fiestaware) and the Morton Building. Each shop is so unique I will feature each on a separate post but wanted to give you the history first!
If you have never been to Cockrell plan a trip
There are plenty of Antique shops less than 30 miles.
