BEAUTIFUL SEPTEMBER 2026!

We are back celebrating music and arts education right here in Samoa!

In SolFa as well as our partner organizations, over the course of the last twelve months our teachers have led our classrooms, inspiring and challenging our students to grow through music and the arts. These students have been part of various projects around Samoa and are eager to share the stage next month. Join us for a night of music and other artistic performances as we celebrate the achievements of our education programs. Our first special guest is the choir of All Saints Anglican School.

A few excerpts from our past projects of music from Samoa and around the world:

“Pokarekare Ana”
-Paraire Tomoana
arr. Ane Filimoehala

An excerpt from our Fealofani 2026 Concert earlier this year in collaboration with Sistema Aotearoa and New Zealand High Commission in Samoa. This arrangement was written by their music director Ane Filimoehala from Tonga.

“南十字星” “Southern Cross”
-Philton Solomona
-Lyrics by Zhou Yufang and Kotimane Taavao.

Written as the theme song for China-Samoa 50 year friendly relations, “Southern Cross” is a bilingual original written in both Samoan and Mandarin that was released earlier this year alongside members of the 中国驻萨摩亚使馆 Chinese Embassy in Samoa and Confucius Institute at National University of Samoa .

“Fantasy On A Japanese Folk Song”
-Brian Balmages, Phillip Lee

Based on the Japanese Folk Song “さくらさくら”, this epic piece is an excerpt from celebrating the Japanese Emperor’s birthday earlier this year with the Embassy of Japan in Samoa. This is the very first introduction to Japanese music for our classical string students.
