Last night marked a historic milestone for sports in Samoa with the first-ever professional-amateur (pro-am) boxing event held right here at home.

Driven by Independent Boxing Samoa (IBS) and the legendary David Tua, this initiative is all about grassroots development creating real, tangible pathways for our local amateur talent to step up into the professional ranks.

A massive congratulations to our very own Jolando Ta'ala and Saliuafi Tuautu, who both made their professional debuts last night! 🇼🇸🥊 They are now officially on the books as professional boxers, starting their careers with undefeated 1-0 records.

Lava Hotel came on board as a sponsor because we saw the incredible work IBS is doing at the grassroots level for kids of all ages. We truly believe in this development and know how vital it is for the future of Samoan athletes.

We hosted and sponsored the official weigh-in for the 'Ring of Fire' right here at Lava Hotel.

Today we want to celebrate Benitto Adolfo Krieg on his recent promotion to Senior Manager here at Lava Hotel.

As Samoa celebrates our 64th Independence, we at Lava Hotel would like to highlight one of our own who truly embodies the spirit of our culture and the true meaning of Tautua. Benitto has been a huge part of our team for a long time, working his way up from Front Office and Admin Supervisor to Duty Manager. He is someone we can always rely on and someone who is always praised by our guests and patrons for his service, being attentive, and going above and beyond.

Benitto outside of Lava Hotel doors is also the current President of the Samoa Powerlifting Federation, a post he recently took on at the beginning of the year. He is an exemplary young man who deeply loves his grandparents and is a dedicated, loving husband and dad to his two beautiful girls.

We are so proud to have you on our leadership team, Benitto. Congratulations on this well-deserved promotion.🇼🇸🙌

Sei Savea is the heart of our Housekeeping team and a true pillar of strength. A proud daughter of Vaipu'a and Salelologa, Savai'i, she balances her role at the hotel with raising four sons and caring for her father and family elders 🥰.
