Activities 2018 of SEPTMBA alumni
SEPT Alumni Workshop held in Vietnam – Alumni activities to come…

On 27. and 28. of November 2017, the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) financed an Alumni Workshop for a total number of 7 international SEPT alumni. The aim of this multiplier event was to re-shape and re-design the alumni strategy of the International SEPT Program. During two days the group worked intensively, defining the needs on the alumni side, matching it with an overall strategy to further link and cooperate with our alumni globally in various fields in the future.

Please note that SEPT will conduct two alumni symposiums in 2018. The first one will be held with our partner TU Dresden covering the topic: „Personal development for interlinked work environments between vocational and academic education.“ The symposium will take place in Dresden and Leipzig during Summer 2018. Please watch out for the call which will be published in January.
The second alumni symposium is scheduled for November 2018 covering the topic: „Information and communication technology (ICT) for development.“ This workshop will be held in cooperation with our partner universities HTW Berlin and RUB Bochum. Please watch out for the call which will be published in February.

Hope to see you all in Germany in 2018.

SEPT MBA PROGRAM
In almost every country in the world, the largest part of revenue and employment is generated by Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises (SMEs). Paradoxically, the attention of most business authors and university programs has been predominantly directed to the big corporations, their special issues and insights.

SEPT (Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises Program Training) is not only an international program but also a research and training program at the University of Leipzig and Vietnamese-German University. It is dedicated to providing theoretical insights as well as practical experience promoting small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). We have decided to base our program on the patterns of the outstanding German Mittelstand which try to transmit the knowledge to firms and institutions from all over the world in order to implement winning strategies to successfully promote SMEs.

SEPT Summer schools at Leipzig University

For the coming weeks SEPT will host two delegations of foreign junior academic researchers and university staff. The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) provides the funds to conduct two summer schools at Leipzig University.

A delegation of 24 participants from partnering higher education institutions (HEI) in Rwanda and Ghana will jointy inaugurate the „African German Entrepreneurship Academy“ (AGEA) Project, which aim it is to promote entrepreneurship activities in Africa.

The „Project development for knowledge transfer“ summer school will simultanously host 29 international young researcher for four weeks to better prepare them for future lecturing positions at their HEI.
