Hi everyone. Capablanca Chess Cafe is still closed for now, but we're now offering some brand new items for sale, which can either be picked up here or delivered straight to your home.

First up, we have fresh homemade bagels. There are two sizes, full size and also mini-bagels. The full size bagels are 20,000 VND per bagel or 6 for 100,000 (1 free), and the mini-bagels are 10,000 per bagel or 50,000 for 6 (1 free). There are also 3 different kinds to choose from: plain, everything, and sesame.

In the future, we hope to offer some homemade cream cheeses for the bagels, but for now we're just offering the bagels by themselves. (Personally, I like them w/ butter.)

Second, we have homemade banana oat cookies w/ raisins. These are fairly small, so that's why we're selling them in groups of 10. One batch of 10 cookies is 40,000 VND.

For both of these, you can order by messaging us through our business page. All orders will be fulfilled the following day after putting in the order.

Thanks so much!

Hi everyone. As of today, we're closing the cafe to the public, due to the virus situation. If you've booked a private chess lesson, all bookings are still valid and we will continue to accept new ones, as well. For any updates, please keep following our page. Thank you.

Hi everyone. To those who were planning on attending our tournament on the 22nd, unfortunately we've decided to cancel the event, due to the sensitive situation regarding the Coronavirus. Although we realize the likelihood of anyone at the tournament spreading or contracting the virus is quite low, what we're mainly concerned about is the discomfort we might cause our neighbors from hosting a (relatively) large gathering of people. We also want to be consistent with the recent health advice regarding social distancing. That said, please do continue following our page, as we're hoping we can still hold the tournament at a later date. If that happens, I will try my best to save the spots for those who have already booked. Thanks for understanding. --Michael

No cooking class this weekend, but other than that, we are open as normal (9 AM-8PM). Also, we just got a new shipment of chess clocks for our upcoming tournament, but they can be used by anyone for blitz or rapid chess. If you've never had a chance to play blitz chess before, come and try it out. 🙂

Open today from 9 AM to 6 PM, serving coffee, iced tea, smoothies, etc. Hope to see you here. 🙂

Our chess tournament on the 22nd is fully booked. Thanks so much to everyone who booked a spot. If anyone realizes later they can't make it, just let me know so I can offer the spot to someone else. And if anyone wants to play but wasn't able to book a spot, let me know and I can put you on our waiting list. If you want to come as an observer, but not play, that's also fine and there is no need to make a booking for that. See you all on the 22nd!
