After 26 incredible years, we have made the decision to close this chapter, called the Caribbean Saloon. While this part of our journey is coming to an end, the memories we've all created will live on forever. We'll be saying our final farewell near the end of September, but our loyal staff is committed to the final day and there are still several weeks left to enjoy favorite foods, drinks, and great company. Be sure to stop by, some great happy hours and specials will be offered!
Many of you already know, but some may not be aware of the deep, everlasting bonds that have formed within this business. Several current employees have been with us since the very beginning, including our manager JR and our kitchen manager David. It feels impossible to recall a time when our entire current kitchen staff were not part of our family. Ardi, Alester (Shorty), Lewis, Melanie. Some were in high school, now in their 30s, some now with their own growing families. Laron was also a big part of our kitchen fam. Rob, our current GM has been holding down the tunes and events for nearly two decades. Burch and Deja have been loyal servers for near a decade. Andy has been pumping the bar booze gas for years.
Of course, we must honor the memory of our beloved Marshall, Cheryl, Guber (BGM!), Pogan, Austin, Todd and Magic Tom, who will never, ever be forgotten.
Many will fondly remember the years of dedication from our previous front-of-house team. Garcia, Justin, Stefan, Nelson, Dax, Heskew, Glen, Gator, Greg (Pistachio), Eric, Tara, Becky, Jen, Stefanie, Neilu, Carrie, Alyssa, Tony, Marc, Trevor, Mary and so many others have each played a role in making the Saloon the iconic landmark it became. Several eventually even moving on to open their own successful businesses. From the Saloon, they've created lifelong friendships, found love, and some even marrying along the way. Every single employee to date has contributed to the unforgettable experience we have built together, whether through crafting our food and drink menus, hosting events, or creating the atmosphere you all came to enjoy.
❗If you worked at the Saloon for any duration, know you played a vital role!❗
We've hosted live music events with some of the nicest bands and artists, many of whom we brought down from the States, forming friendships that have lasted to this day. And oh, the events we've thrown! Countless crazy-fun and silly theme parties, sporting events (Legendary Superbowls!), egg roulette, open mic nights and gong karaoke to name a few. We've shared innumerable unforgettable times (And many behind the scenes moments...well... we'll just keep that to ourselves. If you were there, you know!). The Jäger that flowed through the Saloon was enough to drown the STT harbor ten times? Our various company vacay/concert trips were also quite epic.
Indeed, a series of non-fictional novels could chronical the adventures and characters of Caribbean Saloon and still not cover the experiences we all shared.
To our loyal customers, some of whom have been with us since we opened our doors in 1998: every single one of you have played a part in making the Saloon the landmark it became.
So, as the back bar and our best-selling T-shirt says, it's time to "Beat It, Clown!" All good things must come to an end, making way for new generations and fresh concepts to thrive on the island.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you,
❤️The Caribbean Saloon Family❤️
