Our neighbors at Schakolad Chocolate Factory are a family chocolate shop right here in Boone Village.
They make their chocolates fresh in the shop, and gelato too.

What makes a grandma pie a grandma pie?
It's baked in a pan, not on a stone. The dough is pressed thin into an oiled sheet pan and gets a short rest, so it comes out thinner and crispier than a Sicilian. The Long Island way puts the cheese down first and the crushed tomato on top, in spots, with garlic and olive oil.
It's a home-kitchen pizza. That's the whole point.
That's one of ours.

The grandma pie comes from Long Island, New York. So do we.
Our grandparents, Michael and Nancy Di Salvo, made their home in Smithtown, on Long Island. This is their wedding portrait. They married in Manhattan on September 22, 1946, on Grandpa Michael's birthday.
Long Island is where the grandma pie went from a home kitchen to a pizzeria menu. It's the pizza of where we're from, and we make it here.
