Today, we’re celebrating the legacy of Sonny Tillman 🎉

His first name was actually Floyd. The community called him Sonny because it matched his sunny personality perfectly.

Sonny wanted to serve something you couldn’t get anywhere else. Next time you’re at Sonny’s, try his original favorite; a Sliced Pork Sandwich Big Deal on garlic bread, with fries and a sweet tea.

Table 1-1 at every Sonny’s location is now known as Tillman’s Table. Next time you stop by, we recommend grabbing that seat. It’s the best one in the house.

Sonny never could have opened his doors without his wife, Lucille, by his side every step of the way. She was just as important to Sonny as the restaurant that carries his name.

Sonny’s welcomed local Alachua County firefighters and first responders in for a meal. That giving spirit and Southern hospitality is a core part of Sonny’s, and it’s one we work hard to keep alive today.

Today, we honor Sonny Tillman on his birthday, the man whose passion for BBQ was matched only by his heart for serving others. ❤️

His belief in bringing people together through good food, genuine hospitality and kindness continues to guide us every day. Though we miss him deeply, Sonny’s legacy lives on in our restaurants, our communities and every table gathered around BBQ.
