Thanks Jennifer ATTN: MLR fans. The National Weather Service has issued a Red Flag Warning for Yuma County, La Paz County, and the Lower Colorado River Valley from 9 a.m. Saturday until 11 p.m. Saturday due to critical fire weather conditions.
Forecasters say south to southwest winds of 10 to 20 miles per hour, with gusts up to 35 miles per hour, will combine with extremely low humidity levels between 8 and 9 percent, creating an elevated fire danger across the region.
Officials warn that any fire that starts could spread rapidly under these conditions. Outdoor burning is strongly discouraged, and residents are urged to use caution with anything that could spark a fire.
The warning includes Yuma, Martinez Lake, the Lower Colorado River Valley, and surrounding desert areas in Arizona and California.
