Yesterday was a tough day for me.
I spent part of the day cleaning the last of my things out of my former restaurant, Lickers BBQ at 1504 Belmont Avenue. Watching the new owner and his sons clean things out, make changes, and begin turning the building into their own vision brought back a lot of memories.
I wish I could have hung in there a little longer, but sometimes God closes one chapter because there is another one still being written.
I truly wish the new owner and his family nothing but success. I believe the place is going to look great when they finish, and God bless them as they begin their journey at 1504 Belmont Avenue.
As for me, I’m still working toward opening my new place in Middleport. It has been one obstacle after another, and there have definitely been days when it feels like I take one step forward and two steps back. But I’m not giving up.
I hope the people of Middleport and Meigs County will continue to have patience with me and understand that I am just one man trying my very best to put all the pieces together.
My goal is bigger than simply opening another barbecue place. I want to bring something to Middleport that the community can enjoy, support, and be proud to call its own.
It may be taking me longer than I hoped, but I’m going to get there.
I have faith in God, faith in the journey, and faith that when those doors finally open, every obstacle along the way will have been worth it.
One chapter has ended. Now it’s time to keep building the next one. 🙏🏾❤️🔥
Lickers Hometown BBQ is coming, Middleport. Just keep a little patience and a little faith with me.
