THIS! 💯
Before you call a business owner “lazy” or accuse them of “taking shortcuts,” understand what may actually be happening behind the scenes.
In preparation for the Canfield Fair alone, our team has been working around the clock to produce 10,000+ pastelillos and 6,000+ cakes, while prepping meats, sauces, supplies, and inventory. We have 36 employees working day and night, and managing an operation of that size is a job in itself.
At the same time, we’re running three restaurants, preparing three food trucks for the fair, and coming off four back-to-back week-long festivals, a wedding, and a corporate catering event.
We’re also working toward opening our fourth location—coordinating inspections, contractors, designers, and renovations—while relocating and remodeling another existing location.
Add in news interviews, podcasts, preparing for the Hola Festival just four days after the Canfield Fair, and working on our newest b**r collaboration with 1547 Brewery, Ravenna hot air balloon festival, plus other catering events.
And behind every business owner is still a real person with a family. Our children are either still in diapers, starting school, or going back to college. There are baseball practices, games, homework, and family responsibilities that don’t disappear because the business is busy.
So yes—we use AI when it helps us create advertising and content more efficiently.
That isn’t laziness. That’s using the tools available to manage time wisely.
Successful business owners learn very quickly that you cannot personally do every single task. You build a team, delegate, invest in technology, and find smarter ways to operate so you can focus your energy where it matters most.
Constructive criticism is always welcome. Disrespect from people who know nothing about what happens behind the scenes is different.
Before calling a business owner lazy, unintelligent, or accusing them of taking shortcuts, consider that you may only be seeing one social media post—not the thousands of hours of work behind it.
We’re proud of what our team has built, proud of the people working beside us, and proud of how hard our families have worked and sacrificed to make it possible.
Being a boss isn’t about doing everything yourself. It’s about making sure everything gets done.
And around here, there’s a whole lot getting done. 💪😎🇵🇷
