Just a girl, who as a young mom wanted a place to go with my children and rejuvenate in peace.

A girl who invested $250,000 over 5 years, to build this cafe in hopes of expanding to more businesses to bless families, and one day use the profit to open an orphan home for kids from war torn countries.
-
Covid hit 3 months after we opened and the cascade of follow-on financial and entrepreneurial challenges eventually led to our transition from the larger space to a smaller footprint.
-
Still working for free (30-60 hours a week). Still feeling like this is an impactful place to people, still seeing special connections and memories made daily and so I continue to hope, and work.

My hope is that the community (you) will rally behind us - this little cause - this little coffee-shop & cafe - watering the dream we share with you, to be here long term and eventually grow.

FATHER'S DAY WORKSHOP AND COFFEE/DESSERT TASTING. 21 JUNE 2 - 3:30 PM (SUNDAY).

Persnickety Owner, Cecilia, and Head Barista, Isaiah, are at it again - planning opportunities for creating special memories.

Treat Dad to a fun coffee tasting/brewing and dessert pairing workshop where we'll explore brewing Turkish Coffee, enjoying Vietnamese styled coffee, and single origin South American pour-over (hands-on experiences). We'll pair these tasty coffees with desserts from the region.

Plus learn to pour latte art in your mug!

Visited the Carolinas this month. Popped in a few fun coffee shops, obvi.
-
Loved the newspaper hanger in one shop, and the plant store/ book store in another. Have you ever heard of the book, “if you give a mouse a cookie?” Anyhow, that’s kinda what I’m thinking - if you have a latte, you’re probably gonna want a good book. If you’re lounging with a good book and a coffee, you’ll probably want to be surrounded by plants. 😉

I gained a new appreciation for the community space that coffee shops are. And I have fresh inspiration for our new “Blind Date with a Book” collection. I’m also considering a Book Club at Persnickety.

And it was neat to see how one coffee shop does a rentable work space. Interestingly, we’ve been working behind the scenes for a month here on a meeting / work/ office room and it’s ready to go!!!
