Summer on the Seacoast… you just can’t beat it 🌊

This group of ten came up from North Carolina and wanted to taste the flavors of New England so naturally, we headed to SeaportFish and The Golden Harvest 🥬

On the menu :

crab cakes w/ garlic aioli + fried capers
steamed PEI mussels in white wine, butter, garlic, shallot and fresh herbs
new england clam chowder
locally caught pan seared halibut w/ sweet corn risotto, asparagus + a lemon garlic cream sauce

Have you ever had the honor of naming a business? Did you find it hard or easy?

One of the reasons (the other I’ll share in due time) we chose “Galley Provisions” was because my father-in-law is a renowned wooden boat builder. His entire career has been around boats, charting the way for his family of seafarers. My mother-in-law, a pastry chef and cafe-owner in York, also ran a catering business on the same property we use today.

Unbeknownst to me, that business was called “Boatyard Catering”. It was only shortly after filing for our LLC that I found this out, but it felt like a little hug from the Universe telling me that we were on to something. The right kind of “something”.

This boat was a cradle, 40 something years ago and this past weekend we turned it into a wedding food vessel. This field is so much fun when you start to tap into the creativity.

The concept of catering may not be unique, but our care for your experience is. It’s rooted in hospitality, history and heart. Congratulations to the happy couple and may they get to enjoy a wonderful lifetime together 🤎
