Alright, I'm going to remind you all one more time. If you want prime rib on Saturday you need to book your table before noon on Saturday.

Last Saturday at 2pm we had 10 people on the books. At 5 we had 56 on the books and at the end of the night we had served close to 80. The rib roast goes into the oven at 2pm and we decide how much to prepare based on how many are on the books. Last Saturday, with just 10 on the books we did 1/2 a roast which is 6 portions give or take. We ran out almost immediately.

I'm sure some of you are saying "why not just cook more?" Well it takes about 3 hours to cook so we can't just whip one up and if we cook more than we can sell in a night then it goes to waste because we really don't have any other way to use it once cooked.

Right now I'm showing 20 covers on the books for Saturday which is pretty good this far out. If we're North of 30 then we'll do a full rib roast. If we're North of 45 we'll do one and a half. Like I said, if you want prime rib on Saturday night book your table before noon on Saturday. Hell, book it right now. You're already on your phone or computer. Here's the link.

We're making all our Fall/Winter plans but the thing I really want to know is when do you think it's going to snow?

WOW! I guess we are more known around the state that I realized. Yesterday we stopped into Gill's in Portland and the bartender/owner recognized us somehow. That was really great but this, this is really great. A lot of these types of lists you can tell were done by just reading some Yelp reviews and posting it for clicks but you can tell from the text that they have in fact been in for dinner at least once.

Maine.com list us as one of the top restaurants in the state.

"Rambler Irish Bistro belongs on a list of Maine's best because it does what bistros do best: execute classics with precision and care. This is pub food that respects both tradition and technique - the kind of cooking that makes a simple dish like bangers and mash feel revelatory. The sausages snap between your teeth, the mash yields creamy and rich, and the sauce hits that perfect note of sweetness that casual kitchens rarely find.

Tucked on Main Street in downtown Yarmouth, Rambler occupies an intimate space where you can hear the kitchen working, see the bar from your table, and feel the collected energy of the room. The fish and chips arrive with thick-cut potatoes, browned and crisp all the way through. The menu is short and rotated regularly, built around Irish and bistro standards executed with genuine skill.

This is the place for a date night when you want something unpretentious but genuinely good, or for an early family dinner where the warm service and lively atmosphere mean everyone leaves happy. The kitchen sources with care. The bartender knows what they're doing. It's the kind of restaurant that invites you to travel purposefully - and stay put once you arrive."
