It is with a heavy heart that Terry and I write to announce the closing of our Wylie Taco Delite effective Sunday, July 27, 2025. This decision, while difficult, has been made after careful consideration, as our time serving this incredible community has been one of the most fulfilling journeys of our lives.
We want to extend our sincerest gratitude for the unwavering support, loyalty, and trust you have shown over the years. Each interaction—whether it was a warm smile, an encouraging word, or an unforgettable experience—has left an indelible mark on our hearts. We have truly enjoyed working with you, your children, and the thousands of people who have spent time at Taco Delite. It has been a true joy serving our valued customers, who have become more like family to us.
Together, we have created a tapestry of memories that began with our parents, Jim and Jane Smith and their visions of the growing community of Wylie back in 1987. We endured tornadoes, a lot of roadway construction (that nearly did us in!), and hailstorms. Most importantly, the growth and development of the many employees who gave us years of their lives and dedication. We will always treasure those moments. Their enthusiasm and passion inspired us daily, making this decision all the more bittersweet. Please embrace each of them as they begin looking for new places to share their skills with new employers within the community.
As we prepare to close this chapter, I encourage you to continue supporting local businesses, as they are the vibrant threads that enrich our community. Thank you once again for being an integral part of this remarkable journey. I wish you all success and happiness in your future endeavors, and hold on to the hope that our paths may cross again one day.
