It’s has been an absolute honor over the last 4+ years serving you. Since we have announced our closing you have come in droves with kind words, emotions, cravings and hungry bellies.
We will miss looking out those giant windows watching literally all of Worcester drive by. We always loved that spot on the corner of Pork and Chandler. (See what we did there?) It was a common ground between what seems to be a division in the city. When people entered the restaurant nothing else mattered but the food you were about to receive. 8 or 9 years ago I left the fine dining world to join Brian in Sturbridge to assist with running BTs. My first day there I commented on how every walk of life entered those doors. In fact I specifically remember the line. A person in clown attire, a person of short stature, a transgender, a person in business attire, all races, and a person wearing an orange vest. All were discussing their menu choices and excited to receive a great platter of BBQ. I wish everyone could experience that feeling that I did that day in Sturbridge . I wish I felt that feeling everywhere.
You will be happy to know every member of our BTs family has found employment and we have learned so much by having them in our lives, as they will continue to be part of mine.
What will happen to those walls we called home for so long…who knows, but what happens in those walls will never top what I experienced.
What I have learned …
If you recognize someone smile and say hello, it could result in a lasting friendship.
Genuine hospitality is never about a tip. Everyone in our team understood that and demonstrated it everyday, they made me proud.
Belonging promotes pride. Our band of misfits always rose to the occasion and never failed their mission.
Oh yeah…hold the lever down on the toilet closest to the door for a proper flush.
Signing off.
