β€οΈ A MESSAGE FROM HERO HOUSE AFTER OUR FIRST DAY β€οΈ
First and foremost, THANK YOU.
To every single person who walked through our doors today, waited in line, sat down in our dining room, ordered food, offered an encouraging word, shared a positive comment, or simply showed us a little patience β we appreciate you more than you know.
Today was our first day of our Soft Opening, and to say it was busy would be an understatement.
Our dining room was packed throughout the day with customers enjoying their meals, while others patiently waited in some very long lines to place their orders and receive their food. Seeing Hero House filled with people again was an incredible sight, and we cannot thank this community enough for showing up and supporting us.
We also want to say how incredibly PROUD we are of our staff. β€οΈ
They worked their tails off today.
They were thrown into an insanely busy first day and worked hard, stayed focused, helped one another, and kept pushing. There were bumps along the way, but this team showed tremendous dedication and did an amazing job under circumstances that you simply cannot recreate during training.
And yes β we made mistakes today.
We found things that need fixed. We found processes that need improved. We learned where we need to be faster, where we need to communicate better, and where adjustments need to be made.
And unfortunately, we're probably going to make some more mistakes as we work through this transition.
That's exactly why this is a Soft Opening.
The next few weeks are about learning, adjusting, correcting mistakes, improving our systems, training our staff and getting better every single day.
We WILL get there.
We appreciate everyone who understands what a Soft Opening means and has been patient and tolerant while we work through this process.
For now, we are NOT offering online ordering and are limiting the majority of phone orders. We know many of you want those options, and they will come. Right now, our priority is making sure we can properly take care of the customers standing inside our restaurant before adding additional order volume.
We also absolutely welcome constructive comments and feedback, especially when they're given in a positive and productive manner. If something isn't right, we want to know about it so we can address it and improve.
But we also ask everyone to remember:
Today was Day ONE.
We have plenty more days ahead of us, and we're going to continue striving to get better, eliminate mistakes, improve our service and move Hero House forward.
We also want to clarify a few things that we've seen questions about.
From the very beginning, we said we would open with a limited menu and gradually grow it back over time. We are intentionally taking this approach so our staff can become comfortable and consistent before we continue adding additional items.
And of course, we made sure to start with the staple that helped put Hero House on the map...
π₯ The Cheesesteaks are here!
We are using the same meats, breads, products and recipes that Hero House used previously for many years. We remain committed to using fresh, quality products and making the subs that generations of customers have come to know and love.
We did NOT raise the prices on any of the subs.
We did NOT change the items that come on the subs.
We're not trying to reinvent what made Hero House special. We're working to preserve it, improve the operation around it, and make sure Hero House is here to serve this community for many years to come.
And finally, we cannot say enough about the amazing amount of positive feedback we received today.
Hearing so many people tell us how much they loved their food, seeing familiar customers return, meeting new customers, and reading all of the encouraging comments has meant more to us than we can put into words.
For every person who gave us grace when something wasn't perfect...
For every person who patiently waited in line...
For every person who complimented our staff...
For every person who told us how much they enjoyed their food...
And for everyone who simply came through the doors and supported Hero House...
THANK YOU. β€οΈ
We appreciate each and every one of you.
We're here for the long haul.
Please continue to be patient with us over the next couple of weeks as we learn, adjust, improve and grow.
Today was only Day One.
Tomorrow we'll work to be better than we were today.
And the day after that, we'll work to be better again.
One day at a time, we'll get the job done.
Thank you, Wooster, for an incredible first day back.
