Today marks Sharkie's 9th anniversary.
Nine years ago today, I turned the key on a tiny little storefront, not knowing exactly how I was going to serve my meatballs, what takeout containers to use, or even how much to charge. I opened for just a few hours that day with a feeling that maybe I had something here.
Fast forward to today: Sharkie's has grown from that tiny takeout space into three spaces in the same building, including a full dining room, a specialty market, a wholesale business, and nationwide shipping of our frozen gluten-free meatballs.
I often tell people that no matter what vision you have for your business, it's ultimately your customers who help shape what it becomes. Over the years, I've listened, learned, adjusted, and sometimes struggled to adapt to the ever-changing needs and wants of the people who walk through our doors.
There have been plenty of moments over the years when I wasn't sure what the future held, but your support kept us moving forward.
This is today's Sharkie's. It is what it is because of you.
Thank you to everyone who has ordered a meal, shopped in the market, sold our frozen meatballs in your retail store, recommended us to a friend, or simply cheered us on along the way. A business is nothing without the people who support it, and I am truly grateful for every one of you.
