✨ A GLIMPSE INTO BRECKENRIDGE’S BOOMTOWN DAYS ✨
In 1920, Breckenridge was anything but quiet. As the oil boom swept through Stephens County, our population exploded from roughly 1,500 people to nearly 30,000 in a single year! Oil derricks dotted the skyline, trains carried newcomers into town, and the streets buzzed with wildcatters, dreamers and entrepreneurs hoping to strike it rich.
This incredible photograph, captured by Basil Clemons during his time in Breckenridge, offers a glimpse into the bold and bustling town that inspired this year’s theme.
On November 7, we’re bringing the spirit of the Roaring Twenties back to Breckenridge for our Pistols & Pearls Annual Chamber Banquet and Awards Ceremony! Expect an unforgettable evening filled with vintage glamour, Western grit, great food, exciting auctions and plenty of surprises.
Dust off your pistols, put on your pearls and get ready to party like it’s 1920! More exciting details are coming soon. ✨
