In news that’s almost as cool as DJ Pei (okay, nothing’s as cool as DJ Pei), Pie is proud to share that in 2025 our very own GM Erik Gura began a Community Cooking program at the Barnstable County Correctional Facility teaching inmates how to bake and make pastries!

recently did a great write-up on how the program has grown and expanded and the way it’s giving back to the Cape Cod community by addressing food insecurity locally!

Further proof that baked goods are world and life-changing 😘

It’s June first and you know what that means!
A) It’s summer, I’ve decided
B) There’s a new coffee roast of the month!

June’s flavor is Ethiopian Yirgacheffe which for all the coffee nerds like myself, is a naturally processed blend given complete attention by its growers.

Once harvested, the cherries are tended to 24 hours a day while being dried! I also like to be tended to 24 hours a day, twinsies!

After it’s been processed Misty Valley is traded as a Grade 1 Yirgacheffe. But social media girl what even is Yirgacheffe you say?

It’s a town and specific coffee growing district in southern Ethiopia for starters, but it’s also premium and highly sought after Arabica coffee beans, loved for their bright flavors and notes of jasmine, strawberries, citrus and jammy blueberry!

These special beans are grown in fertile volcanic soil at extremely high altitudes which helps the coffee to develop deep sugars and aromatics before it’s roasted in-house here at Pie!
