With today’s beautiful weather, it’s a great time to remind our friends how to keep your pups safe while enjoying walks in the sunshine!

Even when the air feels comfortable, sidewalks and asphalt heats up quickly—and can burn sensitive paw pads before most people realize it.

The 5-second pavement test can help prevent burns and make walks more comfortable. Simply place the back of your hand on the pavement for 5 seconds. If it’s too hot for your hand, it’s too hot for their paws.

And on especially hot days, indoor play and enrichment can be a great way to help dogs burn energy while staying cool. 🐾
