Was it all a dream?

Throughout the year our dining room is filled with the telling of stories, and occasionally, creating them. This Halloween, we opened "Woodinville's Oldest Creole Restaurant" inside The Herbfarm as our "costume". A year in the making for a memory we hope, lasts a lifetime.

Join us for an evening of feast and fun, including a costume contest for guests, so, bring your own ideas to the table!

For decades we have served the foods and wines of the Pacific Northwest in a sensibility fitting for the region. With that in mind, what better costume than to serve the cuisine and ambiance of another region entirely!
Over the last year, we have been researching the details of this "costume" and even enlisting the help of some friends who know and have lived the food and culture of it.

See Chef Chris in the most recent issue of 425 Business where he was recognized for his role in continuing The Herbfarm as a young entrepreneur.

Chef Chris has been in the kitchen at The Herbfarm since 2007. His curiosity for what it means to contribute to a dining experience in the PNW has evolved his position to becoming one of the shepherds of this business in 2021.

This week marks the official release of The Spirit of The Herbfarm Cookbook and Memoir by Ron Zimmerman - a book he started in the early 90’s and tabled until (finally!) retiring in 2021.

After his passing a few years later, his wife, and co-founder of The Herbfarm, Carrie, took on every aspect of finishing the project and getting it to print. She enlisted dozens of colleagues and acquaintances from the last thirty-five years to contribute their experiences and ensuring that Ron’s voice would be heard.

The stories in this book speak of the genesis of the restaurant, its evolution, and challenges turning a garage into a 5-Diamond destination. What is understood, is that many generations have, and will continue contributing to The Herbfarm’s ongoing legacy. That, is The Spirit of The Herbfarm.

Not the end, but the endurance of an era.

This week we welcomed the newest edition of our Fair Isle Brewing series- their fresh flavors just in time for the early spring ingredients gracing our menu.

Jerry Traunfeld was the Chef at The Herbfarm for 17(!) years, gaining international recognition for his deep understanding for flavor affinities and commitment to the freshest possible preparations. Jerry is made with Montmorency Cherries and Bay Laurel, both grown just a few steps from the front door.

Toby Kim was Jerry's right hand man and Sous Chef for almost a decade. Toby is made by resteeping those same cherries along with Korean Shiso, lending a more delicate flavor.

While these ingredients share similarities in their ingredients and sensibility, they are undeniably individual.
