Pictured with me here are two of the best people I have had the honor of knowing for about the last 8 years. This is the quick back story. What is the saying…. Six degrees of seperation?
For those who know, or don’t, I started this business in the parking lot of the Woodbridge Elks on Rahway Ave in Woodbridge in 2011. 4/5 years later, certain circumstances dictated that I leave and find myself a new home. When that whole move was going on, the Woodbridge Elks #2116 Motorcycle Club co-President,
Viki Elizabeth reached out to me during what would be a rough stretch of business due to the relocation. She asked me to be a part of something they we going to try out. Something called a “bike night”. Kinda like half a car show but with motorcycles. And food… and drink… under a giant tent, in the parking lot, with music. LOL. They had no idea how well it would work or If it would work. But they wanted me to be a part of it. I took hold of their outstretched hand and held on for my life! Well, 8? years later, the Woodbridge Elks Bike Nights,
(3rd Wednesday of M,J,J, A and S) has become a huge success. I’m not even sure how many different causes they have donated to. Or how many 1000’s of dollars they have donated! This entire group of people are some of the most caring, giving, selfless, generous people I have ever met.
I thank you from the bottom of my heart for taking me along in your journey.
Last night was my last Bike Night. Hot Dog Louie’s will be no more as of Dec 20, 2024.
I’m closing the business and retiring along with my straight to heaven, saint of a wife. It has been an incredible 13/14 experience. I have met and become friends with some of the greatest people. A mind blowing diversity of characters, misfits and personalities. Of which, I am proud to be one. I will miss them the most. Im hoping to be able to keep in touch with as many as possible. Text, FB, whatever.
Here’s the six degree part. After attending and serving at these bike nights for a few years or so,
JD Wolfman approached me and threw out the last name of one of my first cousins. Turns out, he was one of the best friends of my cousin whom we tragically lost at the young age of 17/18 when I was about 13. I knew this man some 45 years ago. And here he is standing in front of me. Crazy how the universe works.
