We feel we need to clear something up about bartenders and unruly customers.
Our bartenders are licensed and trained to serve alcohol responsibly. That means they have the authority—and the responsibility—to decide when someone has had enough.
If a customer is intoxicated, becoming aggressive, harassing other customers or staff, starting arguments, threatening someone, or otherwise disrupting the establishment, our bartender can cut that person off and require them to leave.
This isn’t personal. It isn’t about who spends the most money. And it isn’t something a customer gets to argue about with the bartender.
When our bartender says you’re cut off, you’re cut off.
Wisconsin law prohibits furnishing alcohol to an intoxicated person, and responsible beverage-server training specifically addresses recognizing intoxication and safe alcohol service. (Wisconsin Department of Revenue)
As owners, we stand behind our bartenders when they make the decision to stop serving someone for the safety of our customers, our staff, and our establishment.
You are always welcome to enjoy yourself here—but you are not entitled to be served alcohol, mistreat our staff, intimidate other customers, or create an unsafe environment.
Respect our staff. Respect the other people in the bar. Know your limits.
If our bartender tells you that you’re done drinking or that it’s time to leave, please don’t make the situation worse. Just leave.
We’d rather have one unhappy customer than an unsafe bar.
