Hao Bao Bao Coffee (“precious baby” in Chinese) is a “coffee for a cause” roastery and and you can order freshly roasted beans online at haobaobaocoffee.com!

We donate $1 from every bag sold each month to a featured adoptive family or charity. We are set up Tuesday-Friday at Crunch Fitness in Winter Springs (1185 E State Rd 434) from 7am-11am. On Saturdays, we are at Sanford's Marketplace at Magnolia (2nd Str. & Magnolia Ave.) from 9am-2pm. Come out to see us for an iced latte, cold brew, and other specialty drink, as well as bags of freshly roast beans! If you or someone you know is raising funds for an adoption, we've teamed up with two other amazing organizations to help families raise more funds. Below is how each of our organizations help adopting families:

1. Connected Hearts: We provide free one-on-one adoption funding coaching that helps families raise funds for their adoption through crowdfunding, fundraising and identifying and applying for grants. 2. Open Hearts for Orphans: Open Hearts for Orphans is an amazing organization created to care for orphaned and abandoned children around the world through medical intervention, meeting basic needs, and providing "Say Yes" grants to families in the adoption process. Hao Bao Bao Coffee: "Hao Bao Bao" means "precious baby" in Chinese, as we are on a mission to love and support precious vulnerable children worldwide through coffee sales! We donate $1 from every bag of coffee sold to a featured adoptive family or family preservation charity of the month. Welcome to our first Featured Family Friday of October 🧡

Meet the Barbee family, adopting another precious child from India 🇮🇳

"We have always had on our hearts to adopt. We had our biological daughter in 2020, and after, when we wanted to grow our family more, we felt led by the Lord to pursue adoption. We started the process to adopt our second daughter in the fall of 2022. In the fall of 2023, we finally received a match, which was a beautiful little girl, with some scary sounding diagnoses. We felt led by the Lord that we were to make this little girl part of our family, and we were able to go to India to be united with her on June 28th, 2024. She has defied all odds and amazed everyone. We are now close to two years post-adoption, and desire to grow our family by way of adoption once again. We have looked up stats and know that more girls are adopted from India than boys, so we have requested to adopt a boy from India this time!

We are so excited to be on this journey again. We know the roller coaster of highs and lows, and we know that it seems so daunting from time to time, but we can look back and see how faithful the Lord was in providing all that was necessary for our second daughter, and trust He will do the same for our soon to be baby boy!"

In honor of Asher’s 11th birthday today, we’re sharing the most helpful piece of advice we received during our 6+ years of waiting to bring him home. We got the “no” we never expected, but thankful for the lessons we’ve learned despite all the heartache.

Although our celebration of his life looks different today than it has in years past, we are grateful to be on a journey of healing and moving forward to honor his life. While we wish more than anything that we could be the ones to make him feel extra special today, we stand in hope that our Heavenly Father can and will care for our precious boy 🤍

Last Featured Charity Friday of September with Holt International ❤️

This month we are partnering with Holt International to sponsor Yi and his family in China. We want to do something this month to honor our son, Asher, as it is his birthday month and he will be turning 11 years old. We sadly are not able to adopt Asher or sponsor him directly, so we want to support another child like him in need from China. Yi is also turning 11 years old this month and we are so grateful to have the opportunity to support him, as well as his family, for an entire year. Learn more about Yi and his family:

“Yi Chen’s family consists of five people, including his grandfather, grandmother, father, younger brother, and himself. His younger brother and he both have speech disabilities. His mother left the family when he was only two years old and has not contacted them since. To make ends meet, the father works at a construction site and earns very little. The two boys are currently attending a special school. On Mondays, their grandfather picks them up from school and drops them off on Fridays. Their grandmother works in the fields to supplement the family's income, and they barely make ends meet. Additionally, the family owes 15,000 yuan for medical expenses.”

For the first time in seven years, we are not making our sell-out pumpkin spice syrup for our coffee shop and/or trailer…which makes us a tiny bit sad, so we’re cheering ourselves up with a PSL and sharing the recipe with you!

First a little back story on our pumpkin spice obsession…PSL and Pinterest became a thing while we lived in China. (Or at least it felt like that to us!) Everyone was making everything pumpkin spice…and we were jealous. (No, Starbucks wasn’t even selling it in China way back then!) So, we decided to make our own, everything from pumpkin spice bagels to pancakes to muffins, and especially coffee syrup so we could be apart of the craze too.

Except there was no canned pumpkin in China, just real pumpkins all year long. So I experimented cooking pumpkin literally allll the ways. And let me tell you, throwing it in the crockpot is the easiest! Once we moved back to the States, I couldn’t justify spending money on the canned stuff (comes out to less than $1 a cup!), so here I am, 10 years later, still going to for their Seminola pumpkins each fall. Easy peasy! Just put in a crockpot on low for 6-8 hrs (depending on the size), then scoop out portions, and freeze for all season long!

Pumpkin Spice Coffee Syrup

3c water
1/4c or more cooked pumpkin puree (not pie filling)
2-3 cinnamon sticks
1t nutmeg
1/2t ginger, ground cloves, and allspice (adjust to taste)
Either 3c sugar *or* 6 dates (sugar free option-add molasses and maple syrup at end)
1t vanilla (save until end)

Simmer everything but vanilla for 20 minutes or so, then strain through a cheesecloth. (Hint: Use the pulp to make muffins, granola, etc.!) Put in vanilla. For the sugar-free option, add 1T molasses and about 1/2c maple syrup for extra sweetness. Store in the fridge for about 2 weeks…but it’ll be gone before that! Pour 1-2T into your coffee and enjoy 🧡
