It is with a mix of emotions that we share today that the Chef’s Table at the Edgewater and the Tasting Room have been sold.
After almost 18 years as the proud owners of the Chef’s Table at the Edgewater hotel, we have made the decision to retire. When we opened in 2008 with our tiny space of 30 seats and nine tables, we could have never imagined growing to almost 200 seats with two restaurant concepts, serving from the original tiny kitchen.
Our dream was to create a warm and welcoming place where the community could gather for delicious food and great company. Over the years, our Restaurant proved to be so much more than a business to us and to our guests. It has become a setting for countless first dates, anniversaries, birthday celebrations, Business dinners, fundraisers and family dinners. We have shared in your celebrations and milestones and hope that you will now celebrate our milestone of retirement.
We are profoundly grateful for your unwavering support and loyalty. Your patronage has been the corner of our success. We are truly humble to have been a part of your lives and this amazing community. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for allowing us to do what we love for almost 2 decades. We will miss you all dearly and will forever cherish the memories created within these walls.
From our first award in 2008 of best new restaurant in Orlando to our last award in 2025, Joseph Hayes Legacy award, we are forever grateful to an amazing team who has kept our reputation and success secured.
Thank you to our past Executive Chef, David Lampman for the many years of amazing food.
Thank you to our general manager, Alicia Havard, for the years of service and leadership. We are happy to know you will continue to run the operation as general manager.
Thank you to Executive Chef Djeff Alverseau for your dedication and culinary talents and happy you will continue to lead the back of the house operations
A huge thank you to both our front of the House team and our back of the house team.
The same happy faces and talented individuals will still be working in both the Chefs Table and the Tasting Room.
Please know that all reservations and gift cards will be honored as we are anticipating a very smooth transitioning period. The Chefs Table and Tasting Room will still be operating business as usual.
As we move forward with our retirement, it is our plan to sell our sister restaurant on Plant Street, the Attic Door, in 2026.
We are not sure when the right buyer will come along for that special space in downtown Winter Garden, but we are certain it will be soon.
We know that you are all curious who the new owner of the Chef’s Table and Tasting Room will be and what their plan is! We are happy to announce that the person who has purchased our charming restaurant not only followed us from the beginning of our restaurant ownership in 2008, but recently purchased the Edgewater Hotel. We were excited after meeting Jim Larweth and hearing his excitement in continuing the legacy that we have built and we know he will make all of our dreams of the many things we wanted to do with our restaurant space come true! Jim has dined with us many times and truly sees the value in the team that we have in place! We know this town will continue to support the Chefs Table and Tasting Room and we know that our team will continue to exceed your expectations when given the chance!
Thank you Winter Garden
All of our love to everyone
Sincerely
Laurie and Kevin Tarter
