Its that time of year. Time to pick those garlic scapes. Make sure you do this so that the garlic plant doesnt put it's energy into producing flower rather puts that energy into growing out the bulb. Once you pick the scapes, you are about a month away from harvesting . Go get it done.

The final tree is in. It a 4 in 1 apple tree. A total of 7 fruit trees in the new greenhouse . Also the shade side wall is up.

What are you up to today? Well here on the farm we are planting trees and more chili pepper plants.

Just finished planting a pear, goldcott apricot,.Chinese Mormon apricot, Reliance peach, hale haven peach, Chicago hardy fig. We n also.planted purple and yellow bell.peppers. enjoy your weekend everyone.

Today was a day of travel. Started going to flagstaff, then on to verde valley, then up the mountain to the haunted city of Jerome, over the mountain to prescott valley then to chino valley and then to paulden. Stopped in Williiams then returned to.Flagstaff and now just got home. Cherilyn did a round trip to Shiprock NM. Sure.racked up the mileage today. Then we are back in Flagstaff tonight and tomorrow.

But it was.worth it. Spending the day at Verde River Growers, jeez what an awesome place and even better prices!

Today was a busy day. Hauled and shoveled about 2 ton of rock, planted about 100 more peppers, washed the dogs! Now it's time to hit the hay.

The work continues tomorrow.

Got up this morning and wenr straight to planting. We managed to get 200 chilis transplanted this morning. Now off to pick up some fruit trees to put in the tunnel. Jo Costion and ashokola gardens have been very succesful planting trees in a tunnel. So we will copy what they have done and hopefully have similar success.

The first planting in the big tunnel is happening now . First five beds have been broadforked and shaped. Now the chilis are going in. Whoo hoo.

If farming in norrhern high deserts of Az isnt challenging enough, we just found out we now have a protected species of.bird on the farm. The burrowing owls and their habitat are protected under Az State Law. It is illegal to disturbed them and thier habitat. Just great. One of thier dens is in our tomato greenhouse.
