There has been so much activity at Indian Rock Park this week as we prepare for the Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting next Sunday, June 28!

The countdown is on, and final preparations are underway. Landscapers, electricians, and many others have been working tirelessly to ensure every detail is ready for this historic day. The commemorative plaque honoring the families and organizations whose generosity helped make this park a reality is now in place, and we're excited to share that the new sidewalk connection linking Indian Rock Park to Windham's sidewalk system has been completed!

Join us on Sunday, June 28, at 12:30 p.m. as we officially open Indian Rock Park with a ribbon cutting ceremony led by guest of honor Governor Kelly Ayotte. Following the ceremony, be part of the very first event held in the park as Windham celebrates America's 250th Anniversary with Patriotic Town Day.

It's shaping up to be a memorable day filled with patriotism, history, and community celebration. We can't wait to welcome you to Indian Rock Park and share this incredible new community destination with everyone!

More than a decade ago, a conversation between Al Letizio Jr. and Derek Saffie sparked a vision to preserve one of Windham’s most significant historical landmarks and create a community destination that would educate, inspire, and connect future generations to the town’s rich heritage.

Recently, Al Letizio Jr., President and CEO of A.J. Letizio Sales & Marketing, returned to Indian Rock Park with Derek Saffie and Peter Griffin, of Windham's Historic District/Heritage Commission, to provide a special update on the project’s progress. Their tour highlights how that original vision has evolved into the remarkable park taking shape today.

Many may remember the 2016 video, Rediscovering Windham NH “Indian Rock,” https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1R9aekHacrc , which introduced the history, significance, and potential of this unique site. Now, ten years later, the new video, “A Sneak Peek at the Final Construction Phase of Indian Rock Park,” showcases the tremendous progress that has been made and offers a look at the exciting final stages of development.

This project is a testament to what can be accomplished when community leaders, volunteers, historians, and supporters work together to preserve local history while creating something meaningful for generations to come. As the park nears completion, visitors will soon be able to experience firsthand the history, natural beauty, and educational opportunities that make Indian Rock Park such a special place in Windham.

The project will be completed in time for its Grand Opening on June 28th. This event coincides with America's 250th Patriotic Town Day celebration. There will be activities throughout the day for everyone including the Ribbon Cutting at 12:30 at the park followed by the reading of the Declaration of Independence by Governor Kelly Ayotte.

Watch the new video and see how a decade-long vision is becoming a reality.

It was a great feeling driving down Enterprise Drive this morning and seeing American flags proudly lining the A.J. Letizio properties in honor of the upcoming Memorial Day holiday.

A special thank you to the Scouts of Windham for this meaningful patriotic gesture and for helping remind all of us of the importance of honoring the brave men and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our country.

We are proud to be part of such a thoughtful and community-minded town. ❤️🤍💙
