Where were you when the world stopped turning 25 years ago? It was my Junior year, third period English class. The teacher was in the middle of talking and we started hearing a lot of commotion out in the hallways when the office staff was asking the teachers to come out to the hallways. The teacher came back in and I don't remember her saying much but just turning on the TV. At this point both planes had already hit the towers so the speculation of it being a terrorist attack was at the very beginning of it coming into form of unanswered questions of why and who. Within a short period of time while we were watching the news, a third plane hit the pentagon and I remember that's whenever the real fear started to develop in my teacher's expression and now it was the question of what's next. They called all the parents to pick up their kids. That evening, watching the news with my family, I realized the magnitude of the situation when I was thinking how eerie it was that everyone was having the same fear, heartbreak, and questions at the same time in the entire country and maybe the world. Everyone doing the same thing... Sitting, watching, listening, waiting. For a moment, the entire country came together as one. Where were you when the world stopped turning 25 years ago?
