Here's the story....on our way to lunch the other day (after hours of school shopping chaos), we stopped at Heavenly donuts in Wilmington to order a plain bagel with cream cheese.

This is our 7-year-old's typical (and only) order. There's about 10 things he eats, and a plain bagel from Heavenly, and only Heavenly, is one of them.

And so we are those people. We walked into the restaurant with a plain bagel tucked under my arm and a 7-year-old who will eat pretty much nothing off the kids menu. He does order a milk though! And he has no problem asking for ice cream or dessert.

You know what we appreciate most? The understanding. No one gives us a hard time.

And so we get it. We've got three kids and one of them doesn't do so well with food!

We will always accommodate your kids food choices. If they need the crust cut off the grilled cheese, or no parsley garnish on the Mac and cheese, or 3 tacos with just meat....

We got you!

In this family we have a food allergy sufferer and a kid who does not eat much variety of food (why and how we manage it is another story for another day), and so going out to eat is often stressful for us. Picking a place that can feed my child and me while making the rest of the crew happy and full, it's hard and induces anxiety all the time.

That is why at Code 1 BBQ we are here to ease that worry! We have allergy friendly options and a pretty decent kids menu. But if you babies won't eat anything, we understand that too!

It's back to school week! You are gonna have enough fun figuring out your kids lunches and managing back to school fatigue!
