We received this amazing postcard from Chris and Kim. I have no idea how someone captured this unstaged photo of the Loch Ness Monster!?!

We reopen tomorrow morning at 7am for coffee and pastries. Hope to see you there!

PD: a replicated 1934 staged photo of the Loch Ness Monster (yes, I had to look up the year). It resembles a brontosaurus popping its head out of Loch Ness (Lake Ness in Scotland).

You'd think there would be a more technical way of letting the socials and search engines know we are a coffee shop without restaurant table service on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays, but we haven't figured it out yet.

Monday we will be at it again, so please stop by to support your local coffee shop! We open at 7am for coffee, espresso drinks and pastries.

Hope to see you there!

PD: a sign reading "Hours: Coffee and Pastry Shop, Monday - Wednesday, 7am - 1pm. Restaurant, Thursday - Saturday, 8am-2pm, Sunday, 9am-2pm."

I enjoy what has become our weekly tradition of capturing downtown Williamston every Sunday morning. This week's picture is especially sunny with the bright blue Michigan sky.

Come on in for brunch today. We accept call-aheads 15 minutes before your arrival at 517-242-1810.

PD: Looking east towards downtown Williamston with a large amount of the photo being Grand River Avenue making its curve to the southeast as it heads out of town. The road is covered with building and tree shadows from the morning sun. The pear trees are fully leafed and while the north side buildings are dark in the shadows, the south side is beaming with light (except for Keller's Plaza being overshadowed by the 109 building). It just feels like it's going to be a good day.

The Bundt naked cake. That's just fun to say. After trying the Chantilly cake for the first time, we all agreed that it didn't need any garnish, but after seeing the poor thing by itself, Carrie took pity and added a bit of powdered sugar and her fruit preserves.

And there you have it, the story behind the Bundt naked cake. Pick one up today!

As always, we accept call-aheads 15 minutes before your arrival at 517-242-1810.

PD: four baby Bundt cakes with a dusting of powdered sugar and filled with Carrie's fruit preserves, specifically raspberry rhubarb blood orange marmalade.

It's !

Today's is a favorite from when Chef Carrie was the pastry chef at Martha's Leelanau Table; it's the luscious lemon cake. Three layers of moist lemon cake filled with lemon curd and covered with a lemon Swiss meringue buttercream. All that's missing is the Lemonhead candies for garnish 😂.

PD: a fully sliced cake with lemon curd in the center.

In other news, we are late in posting our from our friend Dorothy of A Joyful Line.

Summer traveling? Pick up a postcard and bring it in for our postcard wall!

PD: a French village gate looking very castle-like. The postcard is a watercolor rendition of la porte du Martray à Loudun in France.
