April is here, showers and all 🌧️ but nothing puts a damper on new menu week!
The Chef’s Plate is griddled John Dough sourdough topped with avocado cream cheese, dandelion greens in hot bacon vinaigrette, lardons, pickled mustard seeds, jammy egg, spring onions and herbs and served with a side of rosemary potatoes.
The sweet special is a hot cross bun! House-made with raisins, sultanas, and candied ginger and served with carrot marmalade, and whipped salted butter. It’s way better than the version you played on the recorder back in the day 😜
Some other menu standouts this month are:
The Dutch Hill Salad: green goddess hummus with Whispering Acres greens tossed in a creamy tahini dressing, with roasted broccoli, capers, pickled red onions, feta, and toasted sunflower seeds.
The Very Funky Toastie: ham, arugula, pickled fennel, bleu cheese schmear, cheddar cheese, and shallots on John Dough sourdough.
Strawberry + Rose French Toast with roasted strawberry & rose compote, whipped lemon ricotta, and almond crumb.
The Turkey Pimento Melt with Landis Farm turkey, Hot Saws pimento spread, Whispering Acres kale tossed with bacon dressing, Tony's Delicatessen bacon, and dill pickles, on griddled John Dough sourdough.
…and Spring Shakshuka! A vernal take on classic shakshuka, with local greens, herbs, and alliums. Served with two eggs any way, fresh cilantro, castelvetrano olives, and feta cheese.
There are even more new items to explore on this month’s menu. Stop in or call for takeout Thursdays through Mondays, 7-1 weekdays and 8-2 Saturdays and Sundays.
As a note, the Sawhorse and Buzzsaw will both be closed on Sunday, April 5. We will resume normal hours on Monday the 6th at 7am!
