Let me tell you a story about a girl named Deb.
Hard working waitress always trying to get ahead.
When one day her bosses had a need, she pulled from her oven,
a family recipe.
Cake it was. Carrot Cake. With cream cheese.
The people said hey this is really good,
can you give us something more?
So she baked a batch of brownies after going to the store.
And again they said hey this is really good,
And still they wanted more.
So she gathered round with family, they said retail she should be,
so she got some money from a bank and built a bakery.
And the next thing you know she named it Carrot Tree.
Home cooking and scratch baking was all she knew to do.
She catered for so many, all those wedding cakes too.
She opened up in Jamestown, then Yorktown,
She never let us down.
She nourished her community, her community nourished her.
It's been three score and six, the Tree has really grown,
but it needs a little trimming, Debi wants it known.
On January 24, we gonna close this spot.
Things are not over, quitting she is not.
We're moving down the road to the place that we call home.
So when you need some cake you won't have far to roam.
And so I'm telling you the story of a girl named Deb.
Her story's not yet over, a new chapter there will be.
Join her February 3, at Toby's she will be.
For as long as there's a Debi, there will be a Carrot Tree.
