During a lovely round of golf on such a beautiful day, I got a nice surprise — I spotted the Sandhill Cranes. 🏌️‍♂️

I’ve had a few guests mention they were disappointed they didn’t see the cranes on the main part of Cochise Lake, but here’s a little tip: don’t stop there. Take a look around past the west side of the lake.

And if you decide to play a round of golf, keep an eye out down the fairway on number seven — just outside the fence. You might be rewarded with an up-close view… and hopefully that’s not the only birdie you see on the course. ⛳️😉

Meet Macy 🐶

For those who’ve met her, you already know… she’s absolutely loved. For those who haven’t, don’t worry — she’ll likely introduce herself.

Even though Macy is enjoying her well-earned senior years and doesn’t spend as much time at the hotel these days, she still clocks a shift or two each week just to keep an eye on things.

And if you’re checking in and she casually walks up to your car, don’t be alarmed — she’s just escorting you to the lobby. It’s part of the service.

Payment is simple: a belly rub is required. ❤️

We’re missing Brenda Bretz around here at the Arizona Sunset Inn! 💛 Since moving to Louisiana, she sent us a little piece of her new home. Mardi Gras fun and a King Cake! 🎭👑

The staff gathered to share it, beads and all, and sure enough… I found the baby hidden inside the cake 😄 (guess that means I’m on duty for good luck this year!).

Brenda, thank you for thinking of us from afar. You may be in Louisiana now, but you’re still very much part of the Arizona Sunset Inn family. We miss you! 💜💚💛

We’ve just updated one of our guest rooms with a special tribute to Rex Allen — The Singing Cowboy, The Arizona Cowboy and one of Willcox’s most iconic hometown legends. 🤠🎶

From classic imagery to warm western tones, this room was designed to capture the spirit of Willcox and honor a man whose music, films, and voice helped put our town on the map.

Whether you’re visiting for the cranes, the w**eries, or just passing through, we want your stay to feel connected to the history and character of this place we’re proud to call home.

A special thank you to the Rex Allen Museum for helping preserve Rex’s legacy and for providing some of the wonderful imagery that inspired this space.

We get this question all the time — and the short answer is: we’re basically right on it.

Here’s the easy way to think about it 👇
Business Loop I-10 literally mirrors Interstate 10 through Willcox and connects right back to it.

➡️ What that means for you:
• Business Loop I-10 runs just 8.44 miles total, connecting I-10/U.S. 191 from Exit 336 to Exit 344
• It follows Haskell Avenue (where we are located) straight into town, paralleling the Union Pacific Railroad
• It takes you directly through Downtown Willcox
• It reconnects to I-10.

In other words:
🚗 No winding back roads
🚗 No getting “lost in town”
🚗 No long detours

If you’re driving I-10, the business loop simply peels off the freeway, brings you right through Willcox, and puts you right back on I-10 — almost like the interstate never left.

✨ Bonus: While you’re on the loop, you’re also perfectly positioned for downtown shops, restaurants, w**eries, and easy access to Chiricahua National Monument.

So yes — we’re easy, direct, and exactly where you want to be when you’re traveling I-10.

Staff Spotlight!!

Tonight, something truly special happened that reminded us just how much one person can impact so many lives. During the Willcox varsity basketball game, Olga was recognized by one of the senior players — who shared that she had been his kindergarten teacher and that she made a lasting impact on his life. Moments like that don’t happen by accident. They happen because of genuine care, patience, and heart.

That same heart is what Olga brings with her every single day to the Arizona Sunset Inn. She is always willing to do whatever it takes to make this such a great place — for our guests and for our team. Her kindness, work ethic, and dedication don’t go unnoticed, and we are so grateful for everything she does.

We want to continue recognizing Olga for the incredible impact she has had, not just in the classroom years ago, but right here with all of us at the Arizona Sunset Inn. We’re lucky to have her and proud to call her part of our team. ❤️
