❤️ PLEASE READ! THIS IS WHAT IT’S ALL ABOUT. ❤️
When you purchased your $5 chili cookoff sampling kit, you probably thought you were just coming in to eat some damn good chili, vote for your favorite, and have a little fun. 😉 What you didn’t know was that we had bigger plans for that $5.
We know times are tough. Groceries are ridiculously expensive, gas prices hurt, and it seems like everything costs more these days. We feel it, too. We’re a small, locally owned bar, and running a small business comes with its own challenges. We know that every dollar matters, and we never take it for granted when you choose to spend yours with us.
But we’ve always believed in something: You should always give more than you take!
So, thanks to YOU, those $5 sampling kits turned into 286 non-perishable food items that we were able to purchase and donate to Open Door Mission right here in Wichita! ❤️
When I dropped off those donations and saw the appreciation they showed us, my heart absolutely SWELLED. Knowing those items will help local families and seniors in our own community made this mean so much more than a chili cookoff.
You didn’t just help make our event a success. You helped us give back to people who need it right here at home.
We might just be a little local bar, but we have some pretty incredible people who walk through our doors, and this is proof of that. Every single one of you who bought a ticket played a part in this, and we hope you know how much that means to us.
286 items. $5 kits. One amazing community. ❤️
From the bottom of our hearts, THANK YOU for showing up, supporting a locally owned business, eating some amazing chili, and helping us do a little good in the place we all call home.
This is why we love what we do. And this is why supporting LOCAL matters.
Much love,
Your O’Brien’s Family ☘️
