“THE FOOD WAS OUTSTANDING.”
“THE FOOD WAS REALLY GOOD.”

…but ONE star?! Can the cheesesteak at least negotiate us up to TWO? 😂⭐️⭐️

All jokes aside, we appreciate the compliments, and we hear the frustration about the 45-minute wait and feeling overlooked. Good food matters, but so does your experience while you’re here.

Now, let’s clear up the napkin mystery. 😂 We put napkins in everyone’s bag, whether you’re dining in or taking it to go. That’s why there aren’t napkin dispensers on the tables. If it’s your first visit, you wouldn’t necessarily know that—we can explain our setup better!

Same with the kiosk: it’s how we take orders, but you should still feel welcomed and comfortable asking us for help. ❤️

The SteakOut is a cheesesteak destination. When we’re busy, that grill is handling in-store orders, online pickups, AND delivery orders. Walking through the door doesn’t always show you how many tickets are already ahead of yours.

Think about your favorite busy pizza spot on a Friday night: everybody came for pizza. Here, everybody came for cheesesteaks. 😂🔥

DoorDash’s expected pickup times add pressure, and balancing everything is a real challenge. But we understand why seeing delivery orders leave while you’re waiting could make you feel overlooked. Clear communication matters.

So put yourself in our shoes as the owner: how would YOU respond to this review—and what would you change?

Clearer wait estimates? More updates? A quick explanation of how ordering and dining in work? We want your honest feedback.

Keep it constructive. They loved the food, and we’d love another chance to make the whole experience match.

And be honest… did the cheesesteak earn that second star? 😂⭐️

🚛😂 CAN’T NOBODY TELL BIG BETTY SHE CAN’T HANG WITH THE BIG DOGS!

Pulled into Rutter’s and Betty went straight to the diesel truck pumps beside an 18-wheeler like, “These my people. Park me right here.” 😎

Meanwhile, I’m looking all over the pump for tap-to-pay. Walked inside and the attendant had to explain how things work over on the big truck side.

Ohhhh… so BETTY knew where she belonged. Her driver needed orientation. 🤦🏾‍♂️🤣

Had to walk back out, give her a little rub on the hood and apologize.

“My bad, girl. I embarrassed you in front of your big rollers. You trying to look like a seasoned trucker, and I’m out here looking to prepay.” 💀😂

Then her fill-up came to $250 PLUS!!

📣 DOVER! Y’all rolled up and TORE US UP today! We enjoyed every minute of it. ❤️

And we got treated, too—some BANGING cinnamon rolls from The Rollin Donut Co. and pumpkin iced coffee from Shalom Coffee! 🔥🍩🎃☕

Betty left with diesel. We left with cinnamon rolls and coffee. My wallet left needing a moment. 😢🤣

🥓 STRIPS OR BITS?! Let’s settle this in the comments! 👀🍟

What belongs on YOUR bacon cheese fries: fresh-cooked, THICK-CUT bacon strips or frozen, pre-cooked bacon bites? 🤔

At The SteakOut, we’re loading ours with creamy Cheese Whiz and THICK-CUT bacon cooked fresh. That smoky, crispy bite hits different! 🔥🤤

This one means a lot. 🙏 My friend has supported me since I started this brand in my one-story, two-bedroom apartment with a two-foot griddle on my kitchen table! He knows the original taste—and today, I didn’t even make his steak. Our team is trained and held to the standard: taste like mine or better… which I HIGHLY doubt is possible 😂 If customer service or inconsistent food kept you away, I understand. Come see for yourself why EVERYBODY is saying THE STEAKOUT IS BACK! 🔥

I drove 25 minutes for a turkey hoagie… and two employees’ body language talked me right out of it. 😳

Last night, after our food truck event in Dover, I had a craving. The closest location was closed, so I dropped off the truck, grabbed my vehicle, and drove about 25 minutes to another one with my son.

On the way, we were talking about his future—growing up around The SteakOut, stepping into management, and eventually ownership.

Then we pulled up to a real-life lesson.

They closed at 10. We arrived at 9:45. The OPEN sign was on.

Through the big windows, I could see two employees cleaning. When my headlights hit, the young man looked up, and I could clearly see him drop the F 💣 . His head dropped. He turned to the young lady, and her head just went back.

That OMG reaction.

I hadn’t even opened my door, and I already felt like a burden.

I told my son, “This is something you have to understand as an owner. Your customers can feel how your staff feels about serving them.”

I pulled out and got gas station food instead. That owner lost a sale before I even walked inside.

And trust me, I GET being tired. I’d just worked a food truck event myself. I’ve also dealt with staff turning off our sign or locking the door early, then hearing from customers who drove all that way.

That’s why I’m firm about this at The SteakOut:

We close at 8. If you walk in at 7:59, you made it. You’re welcome here. Your food gets the same care and quality as it would when we first opened.

I teach my staff to expect cleanup to finish around 8:30–8:45, sometimes later. If you’re mentally set on leaving at 8, that last customer suddenly feels like they ruined your night.

They might’ve worked late, driven across town, or been craving YOUR food all day.

They shouldn’t have to apologize for arriving during your posted hours. The welcome is part of the experience, too.

Let’s hear both sides: How close to closing do YOU feel comfortable walking into a restaurant—and restaurant workers, when should the last order be taken? 👀

A customer came back today because her fries were missing. And this time, the person who forgot them was ME—the owner. 😅🍟

She came in to pick up her fries and walked out with some extra fried whiting and fresh battered chicken tenders for her son. I joked, “Make sure he tells you how good those tenders are before you leave us a one-star review!” 😂

But for real, we know how frustrating it is to get home and find something missing. If we catch a mistake after you’ve left and we have your number, we’ll call you. And if you catch it first, please reach out and let us make it right. We’re human, but we care about getting your order right, serving good food, and taking care of you when we fall short.

Sometimes a small business makes one mistake and somebody heads straight to Google or Yelp. All we ask is the chance to fix it.

The SteakOut is back and BETTER than before!

P.S. I failed art class, in case you couldn’t tell. 🎨😂

Real question: How many times has a chain restaurant messed up your order before you left a bad review and stopped going there completely? 👀
