It is with great sadness that I must report that a former employee and wonderful person, Sylvia Pinzone has passed away. The undertaker emailed me. I don't know any details aside from what is stated on the notice attached. RIP Sylvia, thanks for many years of service and friendship.

A retired waitress with over 25 years of service at Scharfs Schiller Park Restaurant, in Buffalo, New York, Sylvia C. Pinzone, passed away at the age of 70. She enjoyed painting, and traveling to Las Vegas to visit her son Carmelo Pinzone and Susan Lloyd, but will be missed by

Today marks one year since we closed the doors on Scharf's forever. It was almost 5 years to the day that we first got the keys and closed the sales to buy it. I want to thank everyone again for the wonderfully wild ride and all of the awesome memories that you made for us. Thanks for sharing your family events with us, and making us feel like part of your families! If we would have lasted to this point, we probably wouldn't have survived the pandemic anyway! I would still like to do a cook book, but not sure how it will go over a year later. I would love to include some photos of your memories of Scharf's at either location. You can post them here. You will be contacted if we end up using them. Thanks again on behalf of all of us!
And i'd be remiss, if I didn't thank all of our staff who made our jobs easier! We always considered you like family. We miss you all too!

This may be my last post for a while here. I will keep the page active for those that want to take a stroll down memory lane by viewing our pictures and videos.
I want to thank everyone who came in to grab a piece of Scharfstory. The money raised is helping pay for the utilites until the sale closes (sometime this week).
The building has been purchased by the Amvets Post which is currently located in Kaisertown. It is my understanding that they wish to keep it a private club and not open to the public.
Since I have no place to cook, it doesn't look like I will be able to do any catering at the present time. I want to thank those that came to help out with the memorabilia sale! True friends are always there in time of need! I miss all of our loyal customers and hope our paths cross again at some point!
