🌾930 Hopkins Hill Rd, West Greenwich, RI. Avoid the Division Rd x Hopkins Hill Rd intersection on Friday before 4pm due to road construction.

Please note that this is typically our busiest weekend of the season! We will have all hands on deck trying to move things along as quick as possible but in our current space our pace is essentially the maximum our fryer can do at once which is 3 dozen every 4-5 minutes. (Can’t wait to get started on our building!!!) Be prepared to wait in line. If you have kids, bring another adult so you can take turns exploring the farm while somebody waits in line.

PSA On Fridays we typically have low or no wait times! This Friday will be our busiest since so many people take the day off to extend their long weekend, but it will be the slowest of the 4 days.

We also sometimes run out of half gallons by the end of the weekend. If you want one, come earlier in the weekend.

Lastly, please DRIVE SLOW as soon as you enter the driveway. There are kids running around exploring our farm. We will be opening up additional parking as needed. We anticipate our usual parking field filling up. Please make sure you do not block cars from getting out. Unfortunately, I can’t find enough staff to park folks. If you are interested in working to help park, I’d gladly take you up on it!!

Shoutout to Kev!! Kev has been with us for years now and is our main c***r presser. I think this last week was the most we may have pressed in a day - around 150 bushels on this tiny press. It takes him about 15 minutes to load, press, and unload a stack. He is a hard and fast worker and we appreciate all that he does!!

We will be open this weekend and I am SO EXCITED to have some fall decorations for you folks as well! I’m swooning over all the heirloom pumpkins, the jackolantern pumpkins with funky stems, sugar pumpkins, beautiful and delicious fruit, merch, and half gallons! I love how our little tent came out!! 😍Thanks to my bestie with helping me with my vision yesterday!

First off, Rob and I were assuming things were going to be slow with our location change and that we would lose a lot of our customers. While I am sure that is true to an extent, you guys have SHOWED UP for us this weekend and I can’t even explain how grateful we are for every single one of you coming and waiting in line. We hope you enjoy our farm and feel free to give us feedback.

Just a reminder that we have special hours today for the holiday Monday. We will be here 10-4. Hope to see you!

School starts tomorrow and we have been going full steam ahead for a while now. Taking today to be fully present with my kiddos. Trying to let go of wanting everything to look perfect. It’s not going to. And that’s ok 🤍

New season, new location, new hours!
Opening Labor Day weekend (starting Sept 4th) we will be open for the season at 930 Hopkins Hill Road, West Greenwich, RI 02817 (our own farm!). Our hours will be
Fridays 10-6 (stop by on your way home from work/ after school!)
Saturdays & Sundays 10-4
Holiday Mondays 10-4

We will no longer be at Windmist Farm in Jamestown. (Unfortunately, it just became a little too crowded and overwhelming for them.)

We do have an orchard here but will NOT be offering apple picking. These apples are varieties for hard c***r and many are not great “eating apples.”

You will be able to walk around and see our orchard 🍏🍎, pigs 🐷 and chickens 🐓

There will be plenty of parking in our field this year

We are still working through all of the red tape, but we are working towards building a c***ry here. Hard c***r is in the future!

Member Spotlight: The Hard-Pressed C***r Company, LLC, West Greenwich, RI - Rob and Jaclyn Swanson have been crafting Rhode Island's favorite fall experience for over a decade, fresh-pressed apple c***r made from one ingredient only, with zero added sugar, and apple c***r doughnuts made with their own c***r, finished with a cinnamon sugar coating and served warm and fresh every weekend at Windmist Farm in Jamestown, RI.

In 2019 the Swansons bought a farm in West Greenwich, and during the pandemic months planted over 300 c***r apple trees, planting even more over the following years. Rob gives a lot of credit for their growth to the mentorship of the late Gil Barden, Jr., fellow RI Farm Bureau board member and co-owner of Barden Family Orchard in Scituate, RI.

In addition to raising apples, Rob and Jaclyn have two young children who help out on the farm too. The Swansons are growing a number of c***r varietals in West Greenwich: Dabinett, Harrison, Wickson Crab, Golden Russet, Harry Masters Jersey and trialing many more. Fruit trees in New England attract a lot of pests and they try to keep any control to a minimum with natural sprays. You can see in these photos the use of clay and the high deer fencing in the background.

Next, their long-held dream of a permanent c***ry is becoming a reality as the family has begun clearing and construction off of Hopkins Hill Road. This is what Rhode Island agriculture looks like. This is what we're proud to support.
