Quack’s Diner Demolition is nearly done, a lot of (re)construction is in process. A lot goes in to opening a restaurant. We will be open 24/7 Wheat Festival '26.

Flooring has been fitted, kitchen equipment arriving; walls are up & next is plumbing, electrical, & HVAC.

UPDATE: OK, for so many who are continually asking us when is the DINER going to open? We are in progress. Right here with this post our photographs that I took today, and this is for all of you potential wonderful customers who are going to come into our place and enjoy a great meal. So much goes into the making of a good environment, things that one never sees in the experience of going to, and patronizing any restaurant or store or whatever. Right here right now, these first two photographs document the installation of the iron work that is being installed on the roof of QUACK’S DINER, and this ironwork is going to be the foundation for the massive HVAC unit that is going to sit atop of the building. These photos were taken this morning. We are anticipating the installation of the HVAC units on top of this massive iron and steel foundation to be accomplished next week.

Finishing work is happening right now on the passage ways between the main dining room and the annex. The kitchen passed through into the bakery and the passageway to the outdoor patio, at QUACK’S DINER, 115 S. Washington Ave. in beautiful downtown Wellington. And in the final picture, in my hand, are three of stone that were drilled out of the limestone walls leading into the building where our private dining room is going to be. 

Cutting through the stone and brick walls is not an easy task at all, but yesterday and today are hallmarks of progress ...

I made apple fritters this morning for breakfast and I know that we will feature apple fritters on occasion at QUACK’S DINER. We will also be featuring other fruit type, fritters, as the season’s bounty allows for.
Well, I made a abundance of apple batter this morning, that would have produced more than enough fritters to feed an army. So I modified the batter a little bit and baked it and here is the result a lovely little apple coffee cake.
I think we’ll be featuring some of this too at QUACK’S DINER.

People have been asking left and right, “when is QUACK’S DINER going to open?” Well, folks, here’s an update: the partitions are up for the kitchen for the soda fountain, and for the dish room. Major fixtures are coming in and have been preliminarily placed, cooking equipment range, fryers, ovens all of that have been bought and paid for, and we are proceeding as planned. We are looking at a soft opening of July first, and a grand opening during Wheat Festival…
