Thank you for the kind remarks, thoughts, and prayers for Mrs. Carter. While her shoulder injury has improved, she is still in the process of fully healing and regaining her strength. At this time, we do not anticipate reopening until the fall (September) time frame and will repost again when the timing is confirmed. Thank you for your understanding and support. Hello, guests and friends. Unfortunately, the owner of Gasthaus Edelweiss, Mrs. Carter, has sustained a shoulder injury that will require restricted mobility and significant time to heal and recover. We are closed until further notice and all reservations will be on hold until we are able to assess her ability to safely return. We will update here as Mrs. Carter recovers and we have a sense of anticipated reopening.

Hello guests and friends. Unfortunately, the owner of Gasthaus Edelweiss, Mrs. Carter, has come down with Covid-19. We are closed until further notice. All reservations will be on hold until it is safe to reopen. We will update here when Mrs. Carter is well and we are able to safely reopen.

Happy Memorial Day weekend everyone! As some of you may already know by word of mouth, we are currently open for business! We are opened with limited hours every Friday and Saturday from 5:00PM on by reservation only. We are no longer holding our lunch hours. If you are interested in ordering a full size cake, please call as well!

As grandchildren of the owner, we respectful ask that if you have been sick with in the last two weeks with any symptoms of covid-19, the flu, a cold, etc, that you call to reschedule your reservation. The owner is in her 80s, the last thing we want is to jeopardize her health. We appreciate your kindness and consideration!

It is with our deepest sorrow that we are announcing the death of our dearly loved, Edwin R. Carter. Edwin passed away peacefully on November 15. With sadness in our hearts, we find solace in knowing that he is in a better place. Edwin was a joyous man who could effortlessly put a smile on anyone's face. We hope that everyone who had the chance to meet him or eat his food and share a meal, will remember him fondly.

During this difficult time, our family would appreciate understanding and support. The restaurant will be closed until further notice.

The Carter Family will be hosting a visitation and service in Edwin's memory on Monday, November 22, at 11:00AM at the Oak Hill Funeral Home in Kingsport, TN.

Guten Tag to our wonderful customers! With all the news of the current coronavirus/covid-19 spreading, we wanted to send out an update.

We are currently still open for business and monitoring the spread of covid-19. However, we please ask that if you have been sick or someone around you has been that you please cancel your reservations. The owners are both in their 80s and at higher risk if they become sick, meaning not only is it easier for them to get sick, but they also would have a harder time recovering. We just please ask that you be respectful and monitor your health closely at this time. If you or anyone close to you has been sick, please call us to cancel or reschedule your reservation.

I like to thank all our Costumers for your Kindnes and Understanding .My Hosbands Hospital Star and bis condition is very hard on US.Also the Los of one of our Sons in December.Your Love,Understanding and Kindnes Means so much to US.Thank you all.Even thogh Eddie cant work anymore,I will Continue As Long As the Good Lord lets me.Hope to See you soon .God bless!
