Inside the mind of a Coffee Shop/Wine Boutique owner:

I am genuinely saddened to hear of Dolly Parton's passing. Not because I knew her, of course, but because she always seemed to represent something we need more of in this world.

She could be tough and still be kind. Successful and still generous. Beautiful and glamorous without taking herself too seriously. She knew exactly who she was, didn't apologize for it, and used what she had to make life a little better for other people. That's a pretty amazing legacy.

My mind is whirling... How can Vino Latte help make the world better and honor this wonderful lady? I have an idea!

This September, we're celebrating Dolly at Vino Latte with two specials: The 9 to 5 Latte and The Jolene refresher.

Even better, $1 from every Dolly drink sold will go to the Marathon County Dolly Parton Imagination Library ( ), supporting Dolly's belief that children should have books of their very own.

Vino Latte's Wine Tasting 101: No Knowledge Required!

Join us for a relaxed, fun Wine Tasting for Beginners — absolutely no wine knowledge required!

Wednesday, September 9, 2026 • 5:30 PM

$32/+ tax person OR $60+ tax per couple. Includes instruction, materials, wine and dinner.

We’ll taste our way through six different wines while learning the basics of wine in a way that’s easy to understand — not intimidating or overly technical.

We’ll talk about things like:
• How to actually taste wine
• What you’re looking for when you swirl, smell and sip
• Common wine terms and what they really mean
• How different grapes and styles compare
• How to figure out what YOU like
• Tips for choosing wine with more confidence

This isn’t about becoming a wine expert. It’s about understanding wine a little better, discovering what you enjoy and having a great evening doing it.

I know I shared this a bit ago, but here’s the official announcement!

Some hospitality leaders build businesses. Others build communities. For more than two decades, Loreen Glaman has done both.

As owner of Vino Latte in Wausau, Loreen has created much more than a coffee shop and wine bar. She has built a gathering place where neighbors connect, employees discover their potential, seniors find community, nonprofits receive support, and local businesses lift one another up.

Her journey has included balancing business ownership with a career as a Wisconsin Department of Justice Special Agent, navigating recessions, adapting through COVID, mentoring hundreds of employees, and making the difficult decisions necessary to ensure Vino Latte would continue serving Wausau for years to come.

Congratulations to Loreen Glaman on being recognized as one of Wisconsin's Top 20 Women in Hospitality to Watch!

Hey All You Vino Peeps!

We are starting the search for fixes/repairs to our parking lot. Seeking a (preferably) local company to provide suggestions and options, as well as quotes.

We don’t know when we will pursue this, but when we do we hope the company will be flexible with our being open 6 days a week, with potential options of doing work over one of the many three day (often near or over holiday weekends).

We also know a complete tear out and replacement may simply be too expensive… but we will entertain all possibilities.
