Naugatuck Forest, CT.- aggressive, single track .hike on Sunday “earned “ day off ! We started high up in the Gunntown neighborhood and hiked a mile down to the LBT Thru Trail. We did a crossover to the Longmeadow pond stream that ends up in HoP Brook & eventually the Naugatuck river. We snapped a hard right before the brook and took a real tricky mile hike to the East and you can check out the pictures.
Gorgeous adventure, but boy you gotta be careful with your footwork , because there’s lots of rocks, moss, and slippery surfaces .
From there, we found our way and hiked another mile and a half back uphill to the gunntown neighborhood.
For those who saw me SIOR CT W MA Chapter breakfast panel last week at the farms country club, where I was using a cane, I was able to get a brusiatis shot in my left hip, that allowed a minimally painful 3.1 mile hike in 88 minutes,
