We have a bunch of exciting Wine Events coming up! On 22 March we're hosting a dinner featuring the winesof Il Pioppo, an importer of small-production, indigenous Italian wines based in Virginia. Then, on 26 April Nicolas Rossignol is coming to present his exquisite wines from Pommard, Volnay, and Beaune! Finally, Alex Gambal will be presenting his micro-production Burgundies 21 May. We're leaning Old World in the near future, but we're working on getting some New World producers, so stay tuned!

I've been tasting a lot of Greek wine lately and I can't wait to pair some of it with our Tasting Menu! Come check it out and get to know the wines of one of the oldest civilizations on Earth!

Nerd Alert! As an aperitif with the Esoteric Wine Pairings we are pouring a crazy red/rose Italian sparkler. Made by Vigneto Luciano Saetti, it is 100% Salamino di Santa Croce (heard of it?) and sports a dry, red fruit character with a little hit of tannin; very unique! The winery is so committed to natural winemaking (wild yeasts, no sulfates used in the vineyard or winery!) that both the front and back labels are embroidered. You read that right: embroidered, down to the Surgeon General's warning! Come check it out! If you want some more after you're done, we'll be happy to sell you a glass or two at the bar!

I'm sorry for the silence everyone, but exciting things are happening in The Wine Room! We are rolling out a new menu tomorrow and it is fantastic! I also brought in some wines for pairings only. I have an '05 Cotes du Jura Rouge that will blow your hair back as well as a traditional bottling from Mt. Etna in Sicily made from Nerello Mascalese; say that three times fast! They aren't on the list, so you have to come have them with the Chef's delicious tasting menu!
