**Remembering Thomas Johnson: A Pillar of Washington DC’s Hospitality Scene**

Thomas Johnson, the Managing Partner of the Hill Restaurant Group, passed away on March 10, 2024, leaving behind a legacy that resonates deeply within Washington DC’s vibrant hospitality industry.

Born on February 15, 1969, in Van Nuys, California, Thomas moved to Washington DC, where he became an integral part of the city’s cultural fabric. Known for his strong will, immense heart, and delightful sense of humor, Thomas was not just a successful businessman but also a cherished friend and mentor to many.

Thomas’s journey in the hospitality industry was remarkable. Starting as a dishwasher and working his way up to head bartender at TGIF, he honed his skills and built invaluable relationships along the way. His passion for storytelling and connecting with people made him a standout figure in DC’s bustling restaurant scene.

In 2018, Thomas joined forces with William Sport to co-lead the Hill Restaurant Group, breathing new life into some of the city’s historic and beloved establishments. His contributions went beyond business; he actively participated in local initiatives, serving as co-chair of the Capitol Hill Business Interest Working Group and advocating for community development and tourism promotion.

Thomas’s impact extended beyond the boardroom. He was deeply involved in neighborhood improvement efforts, actively supporting local businesses and fostering a sense of camaraderie among residents and business owners alike. His dedication to DC was evident in his actions, from living in the heart of the city to championing causes that enhanced its vibrancy and charm.

His sudden passing has left a void in the hearts of his family, friends, colleagues, and the entire DC community. Thomas Johnson will be dearly missed, but his legacy of passion, dedication, and community spirit will continue to inspire generations to come.
